  3. A10pilot617 says:

    @ManchesterUtdOnline he played for everton on a loan… that counts for something

  4. wildgrasse says:

    Landon is amazing! He really should play for Everton or some other English club. Too good for mls. However I heard that LA galaxy wouldn’t give in to releasing him since he’s their star :(( good luck Landon I hope you make the right decision and they let you do whatever you want <333333333

    @stang217 individually and for their clubs, England have some of the strongest players in the world. So what if they can’t play well together? I just hope americas achievement in the world cup gets the sport more recognised over there, and I hope it stops you hiding behind your own sports like shitty baseball

  8. MaccaAndDazUK says:

    @yourbuddiebob you got destroyed by Italy and did very poor against Egypt in the same Tournament.

  9. ManchesterUtdOnline says:

    It’s a shame a player of donovan’s quality is still playing in the American league

    Donovan should stay at Everton he is far too good for MLs.

  12. ValentineQ14 says:

    I agree bro. If the U.S loses to England it should be seen as no embarrassment. The U.S. is an equal competitor and I think it will be a good match.

  13. firesting81 says:

    @hudz595

    England won’t embarrass us. They might win, but they won’t embarrass us. The US tends to play to the level of our competition, be it higher or lower than us. Just look at what we have done to Egypt, Spain, and Argentina in the last year. Even Brazil just survived the Confed Cup Final with a 3-2 win.

    @hudz595

    Well, they have a player development and marketing deal w/ Real Madrid and that is the reason (Beckham came out to break ground on their new stadium while with Madrid), but I agree it is a ridiculously stupid name. A lot of MLS fans think so.

  15. stang217 says:

    the English National team…. the most over hyped national team in the world.

  16. stang217 says:

    I’ll admit it is stupid, I don’t think it was a MISTAKE though. It was obviously intentional. USA has nothing to lose if we lose to England, you fairies are expected to beat us. But if we beat you guys, we are the under dogs and everyone will be happy. Plus England chokes in the world cup, you tools haven’t won shit since the 60’s. You’re the biggest under achievers out there! Couldn’t even make the euro cup! USA is going to down those english scum bags… watch… the Yanks are coming!!

  17. hudz595 says:

    @yourbuddiebob Mate watch the world cup when England embarrass you in front of the entire world.

  18. hudz595 says:

    @stang217 Well at least we wouldn’t name our teams something we saw in another country and didn’t understand… What kind of name is ‘Real Salt Lake’? is this opposed to ‘Fake Salt Lake’ or is it Royal in a way I haven’t realised. OR is it (as I somewhat suspect) an idiotic mistake made by an equally idiotic american?

    Friendly’s don’t count. Haha. That’s like saying “He looked decent in training”. We’ll see if he can handle the pace of the English game, I hope he does well, because i’m a fan, but I think he’s a big fish in a small pond in the MLS. He could be well out of his depth in the Premier League.

  22. lbcdemon says:

    Actually he did pretty good at Bayern Munich. He got 4 goals in his first 5 games but they were friendlies. When the league games started back up he didn’t get starts and only got a few subs worth 15 minutes here and there.

    I am sure he could have done more if he was given more time during league play.

  23. calumstarkey says:

    Best of luck to Donovan at Everton. Whenever he’s left America he’s played poorly, but hopefully he’ll be able to hit form in England. It’ll be interesting to see how the USA do against England in Group C too. I’m from England, so obviously i’m hoping for a 9-0 win, but in a different climate, who knows?

  24. stang217 says:

    negative… the reason why Ukraine and Scotland have shit leagues is because Scotland isn’t a desirable place to live. Same with Ukraine. The Strongest leagues in the world are desirable places to live (England, Italy, France, Spain). America has many desirable cities and is one of the nicest places to live. It’s only a matter of time. USA is the best at everything kido, it’s only a matter of time before we’re the best at the worlds sport 😉 I know how you Euro Fags hate that

  25. JoshMufc101 says:

    wrong!! you will never be as good. because knobody ever goes to the MLS at the peak of their career. and never will. you are on par with scottish, ukrinian, league which are very poor standard. just because it has only been going professionally since 1996, it has been going since 1960’s
