The company takes its name from Nike (Greek Νίκη pronounced [ni?k??]), the Greek goddess of victory.
Nike was a very close acquaintance of Goddess Athena, and is thought to
have stood in Athena’s outstretched hand in the statue of Athena located in the
    Parthenon,athens greece.I think its cool!!!!!!!!!!!

No other sport can make an impact as football, no other thing is as beautifull as the original football.Nothing beats an awesome goal! Tears, smiles, screams, an entire nation celebrating or being crushed by it. All of this and much more with only one…goal… Believe me, America is just begining to realize that, epecially after ther millions of audiences this year that the UEFA Champions League game Inter-Bayern gathered that the superball couldn’t even aproach by far.

  13. 4435123 says:

koondogg0303 , don’t come with your typical american hatred towards our football.I was respectfull on my other coment, but if you insult the original football talking trash like that, you’re insulting every single european on earth, as well. You just can’t deny, the european football or soccer (like you call it there) is the king of all sports on earth.

  14. 4435123 says:

True,US Soccer can’t keep up with the original european football, but let’s not get too cocky about it (us, europeans), cause soccer’s really taking a progressivly more important role in US, inspite of all the other top sports like american football and basketball wich stand currently as much more prefencial choices to american sport fans. Yeah, America may not be as good in european football as we are, but we aren’t that good in basketball or american football as they are. There, fair and square

@brbuck159 haha bro only linemen are fat in american football and even then they still put countless hours into the weight room. Also the NFL and the United Way started a program called PLAY 60 to stop obesity. Not all americans are fat pigs that the world makes us out to be.

The shoe and sports equipment company Nike, Inc. is named after the Pagan Greek goddess Nike . The Nike SWOOSH logo represents a Pagan deity .Nike is seen with wings in most statues and paintings. Most other winged deities in the Greek pantheon had shed their wings by Classical times. A figure of Nike with a vessel was the design of the first FIFA World Cup trophy, known also as the Jules Rimet trophy. “Nike Logo” and the name “Nike” reflects ,Pagan belief .
